MInt & Peach is the perfect color combination for your late spring/ early summer wedding (or bridal shower or even baby nursery) because it is soft and romantic. You can incorporate the colors into a variety of styles, such as vintage garden or modern beach. Another great thing about this color combination is that you can incorporate both silver and gold finishes, since peach is warm and mint has cooler undertones.
Style Me Pretty always showcases the most romantic weddings from around the country and today I am featuring a beautiful event that took place at the Southern California gem, Casa Romantica in San Clemente.
The venue is a beautiful mix of Spanish influenced architecture and romantic gardens. Casa Romantica sits atop a bluff with the Pacific Ocean in the background. It is actually open to the public as a garden and can be visited year round for events such as a Fourth of July Spectacular or a student art exhibition. I highly recommend taking a stroll around the grounds if you can. There a ton of great places to eat and explore in the area as well.
All wedding photography and cinematography was done by Picotte Weddings. Floral Design is by Flower Wild and the rentals were done by Signature Party Rentals. The catering and day of coordination was handled by Christina Carbonara of Carbonara Catering.
It is a beautiful Southern California day and I am so glad it is the weekend! I will be making my way to the Santa Fe Dam Recreation Area in Irwindale, CA for the Renaissance Pleasure Faire! I go to the faire with my family every year and it is a huge festival with artists, performers, food and activities all decked out to look like an old English town. This weekend is a Steam Punk costume contest. I have heard about Steam Punk design from my sister, Alyson, so I am excited to get a first hand look at the fashion and inventions (and probably a whole lot of inspiration!)
So, I will leave you with Monique Lhuillier‘s Luxurious Spring 2013 Bridal Gown line. All of the pictures can be found at Wedding Inspirasi, my go-to for the latest bridal gown fashion. Have a great Saturday!
The New York City International Bridal Week was held this past weekend (April 14-16) and the top bridal designers showcased their new wedding gown designs for the Spring 2013 season.
For her Spring 2013 collection, Vera Wang took inspiration from the Chinese tradition of a bride wearing bright red on their wedding day. Red is said to bring prosperity and luck to the happy couple. Any woman wearing a Vera Wang gown on her wedding day is already a lucky lady! For those bride’s that are a little less daring, all of the bridal gown’s shown are also available in white and various off white shades.
All photos can be found on Wedding Inspirasi. This is one of my favorite sites to see all of the latest Bridal Gown collections.
I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday weekend! I was so lucky to be able to spend Sunday doing what I love — Coordinating Weddings! All of the vendors I worked with this weekend were true professionals and I just cannot wait until I am able to show everyone the photos. The ceremony setting blew my mind and the popcorn bar I set up was a huge hit.
Well, the weather is getting so beautiful and I only have one thing on my mind…Sailing Away! I love cruising and the nautical theme is close to my heart (♥itb) so I decided to bring you an inspiration story for an All American Nautical Party. You can use this inspiration for a casual lobster bake with friends or for a preppy wedding by the sea shore. The most important thing to remember is to be inspired by the beautiful pictures but make the elements your own.

Nautical Flags in the coordinating color of your wedding party can be strung from the umbrellas to the table tops
After reading my story, Bridal Gowns for Beginners, and choosing your perfect dress, it is time to choose the perfect veil. There are a variety of veils that will work with many dress styles. There aren’t many rules, just choose what you feel most beautiful wearing.
Waltz: Falls between knees and ankles. Perfect length for dancing!
Double Tier: 2 layers normally 2 lengths. The double tier gives the veil a fullness.
Elbow Length: Falls to the bride’s elbow, approximately 25 inches from the head-piece.
Chapel: Falls to the floor, can be worn with many styles- Ball Gown, Mermaid, Trumpet
Blusher

Short single layer of tulle that is worn over the face during the ceremony. It is often removable for the reception and should be free of any edging or bead work.
Cathedral

The longest veil available. It measure 3 1/2 yards from the headpiece. Looks beautiful in formal settings with a variety of gown styles.
Fingertip Length

Falls to the brides fingertips. The most popular veil style and can be worn with any dress style. The veil shown also has a satin edge.
Flyaway

Multi-layered and falls fall to the bride's shoulders. A less formal option and it looks great with a tea length gown.
Fountain

Multi-layered veil that gathers on top of the head. It has a very full appearance and can be worn with a variety of gown styles.
Mantilla

Long, circular lace trimmed veil. No blusher is worn with this style. It looks great with gowns that have lace details or with mermaid and column gown styles.
One of the most amazing jobs I ever had was working as a Bridal Gown consultant at Castle For Brides (formally in Huntington Beach, CA, now in Laguna Hills, CA). My best girlfriend’s Aunt Jerri was the manager and we got to spend our free time together helping bride’s play dress up. My girlfriend Brooke and I used to go through each and every dress to help organize the store and stay up to date on the latest bridal trends.
That job made me have a new appreciation for the Wedding Industry because while working there I realized the wedding day was about more then a gown, flowers and some cake — It was all of the hopes every mother had for their daughter, the true bond of friendships and the love between two people committing themselves for a lifetime. I’m getting a little teary eyed just thinking about it.
Brides would often come in to the boutique with an army of women and a notebook full of ideas, but without a real clue to what it all meant. So, I decided to gather all of my bridal gown knowledge in one convienent place. Enjoy!
General Guidelines
Now onto the Bridal Gown Terminology
FABRIC – Before gown shopping be sure you have set the date. The time of year will help dictate the best fabric choices.
Silhouettes – Your body type will really dictate the best shape for your wedding gown. But you might be surprised about what accentuates your curves, so keep an open mind.
DETAILS- This is what makes a dress unique. The Neckline, Waistline and Embellishments really show off the brides personality.
